The Special Display ‘Uesugi Kagekatsu; The Counselor’ is now on display.
During the Sengoku Period where rival lords fought out for dominance until the period of unity across the whole of Japan there was one very special man present. Kagekatsu.
This display focuses on introducing the role Kagekatsu took administratively which built the foundations of the Uesugi Clan’s position within the Yonezawa Domain.
Also ‘A national Treasure – Uesugi Folding Screen Art’ will also be available to see at the same time.
Said to have been given from Oda Nobunaga to Uesugi Kenshin in the year 1574 and then handed down through the generations of the Uesugi Clan. A marvelous picture of the capital depicting the outside and inside of the city, the four seasons and those living within the city.
There are also lectures and workshops available to participate in.
