  • The 41st Uesugi Snow Lantern Festival

Every February sees the Matsugasaki Park area filled with the
wondrous sight of hundreds of glowing snow lanterns. Events,
food stalls and a wonderful winter atmosphere make this a festival
not to be missed! A pre-illumination will be held on the Friday
before the festival.

※Please be aware there is no parking available in the vicinity of the festival.
Please use the provided shuttle bus service, paid car parks or other methods
of public transportation.

Due to good snow conditions Yonezawa Ski-slope is opening early!
Everything but the dynamic course will be open early.

Budoumatsutake-Line Winter Road Closure

From this year the Budoumatsutake-Line (Between Yonezawa, Bansei, Azusayama – Takahata, Motowada) will be closed during the winter period.

 

The road is planned to re-open at the start of April but this may change due to snow conditions at the time

Road works:


There are currently roadworks passing through Shirabu requiring brief stops at traffic lights, sorry for the inconvenience caused. Please make sure to change into proper winter tires as the roads around Tengendai are prone to icing.

Why not come get your skis/boards for this limited pre-open season!
