Celebrate Mountain Day by Climbing Our Local Mountain!"

To commemorate the establishment of Mountain Day, we are holding the "Nishiazuma Mountain and Mountain Day Citizen Trekking" event at Tengendai Kogen.

We look forward to your participation!

  • Date: August 11, 2024 (Sunday)

  • Intermediate Level: Nishiazuma Mountain Course
    Meeting Time: 8:20 AM at Alb Tengendai
    Ending Time: 3:30 PM at Alb Tengendai

  • Beginner Level: Ningyoishi Course
    Meeting Time: 8:50 AM at Alb Tengendai
    Ending Time: 2:00 PM at Alb Tengendai

  • Participation Fee:
    Adults: ¥4,000
    Elementary School Students: ¥3,000
    (Including tax, guide fee, ropeway/lift fee, and accident insurance)

  • Capacity:
    50 participants per course (minimum of 10 participants required)

  • Registration:

Safe Climbing with Thorough Preparation

Spectacular views and enjoyable memories all start with preparation.

Climbing is not complete until you have safely descended!

To prevent mountain accidents and enjoy your climb, use the following safety tips and rules to ensure a happy return home with a smile!

~~ Safety Climbing Guidelines ~~

  1. Don’t underestimate the mountain.
  2. Choose a mountain suitable for your physical fitness level.
  3. Submit a climbing notice.
  4. Take care of your physical condition.
  5. Avoid climbing in bad weather.

~~ Rules for a Happy Return Home ~~

  • Always plan your climb and submit a climbing notice. Inform your family or others as well.
  • Do pre-climb training to ensure your physical fitness and skills are suited for a safe climb.
  • Regularly hydrate and replenish electrolytes.
  • Be prepared for sudden weather changes (e.g., rain gear, extra food and water, a mobile phone, spare batteries, a map, a compass, a helmet, etc.).
  • Be cautious of encounters with bears (e.g., carry a radio or bear bell).
  • Continuously check weather and volcanic information during your climb.
  • Turn on your phone’s GPS before starting your climb.
  • If you get lost, retrace your steps. Seek help in areas with signal reception and good visibility.

Organically grown and environmentally friendly agricultural products will gather at the Yonezawa City Hall.

Yonezawa producers have carefully crafted a variety of foods such as vegetables, dried noodles like soba and udon, and rice. We look forward to welcoming everyone with a diverse selection of foods.

Please feel free to drop by if you are in the area.

 Each day from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM

We are pleased to announce the "International Matsuri Festival 2024 in Yonezawa," inviting children with refugee backgrounds and those living as evacuees in Japan to join us in creating a festival together. This event aims to establish Yonezawa as a hub for international exploration, fostering the foundation of coexistence through cultural exchange.

「The 42nd Yonezawa Beef Festival」 will be held on Saturday, September 14th!

The 「Yonezawa Beef Festival」 is a major event where about 900 people gather at the Matsukawa Riverbank to enjoy the finest Yonezawa beef. From evening to night, attendees gather around charcoal grills under rows of tents, savoring the melt-in-your-mouth beef marbled with delicate fat. The festival, which started in 1980, aims to promote the consumption of Yonezawa beef, a representative of 「Yonezawa's Taste ABC,」 and to enhance its brand value.

※Yonezawa's Taste ABC: A is for apples, B is for beef, C is for carp. These are delicious local specialties from Yonezawa.

Take this opportunity to enjoy the finest Yonezawa beef!

  • Highest-grade Yonezawa beef produced by livestock farmers in Yonezawa City (800g for 4 people set, 400g for 2 people set)
