Tengendai Update 2024! 23rd ~ 25th February
Tengendai’s sending an update for the long weekend from 23rd to 25th February! During this period, children up to elementary school age can ride the ropeway and lifts for free, and there are many other free activities you can check out while you’re here! Campaign Period 23rd February 2024 (Friday, national holiday) ~ 25th February 2024 (Sunday) Yunohira Course Update! New banked slaloms! New moguls! Perfect for a more active experience! Snowboard with a pro - Fuse Tadashi! On each day, an announcement will be made before the session starts. Two sessions are held per day - 1 in the morning and the other in the afternoon. Free entry for children up to elementary school age on the ropeway and lifts! Please ensure that your child is accompanied by a parent or guardian. The regular fee is 3,900 yen. Takeakari x Snow x Wish 2024 with Uesugi Snow Lantern Festival’s Candle Zone!
The Takeakari x Snow x Wish 2024 with Candle Zone & Tohoku Number One Sakura Yonezawa Project will be held in conjunction with Uesugi Snow Lantern Festival! The collaborative takeakari bamboo lamps will be lit up in remembrance of the victims of the 2016 Kumamoto earthquake, the 2011 Tohoku earthquake, and the recent 2024 Noto earthquake. Enjoy the vibrant Candle Zone and the sakura pink bamboo lights when you come over! Kuriko Tunnel - Icicle Trekking Tour ~Let’s Meet the Ice Trolls~
Up in the mountains of Yonezawa lies a tunnel of wonders! In the Kuriko Tunnel which connected the cities of Yonezawa and Fukushima on the expressway back in the Meiji period, ice structures resembling The Hattifatteners from Moomin sprout from the ground! Also known as ice trolls, these icicles take shape when water freezes after dripping from the ceiling and they can even grow to 3 meters tall! Put on your snowshoes and enjoy a tour led by a local guide who will explain the Meiji period’s forestry technology, wildlife tracks and many more as you head to the tunnel! forming a picturesque scenery that can only be seen during winter. Beginners are also welcome! You can also enjoy local Yonezawa cuisine for lunch with the bentos prepared by locals! We hope to see you there!
