  1. Don’t underestimate the mountain.
  2. Choose a mountain suitable for your physical fitness level.
  3. Submit a climbing notice.
  4. Take care of your physical condition.
  5. Avoid climbing in bad weather.

~~ Rules for a Happy Return Home ~~

  • Always plan your climb and submit a climbing notice. Inform your family or others as well.
  • Do pre-climb training to ensure your physical fitness and skills are suited for a safe climb.
  • Regularly hydrate and replenish electrolytes.
  • Be prepared for sudden weather changes (e.g., rain gear, extra food and water, a mobile phone, spare batteries, a map, a compass, a helmet, etc.).
  • Be cautious of encounters with bears (e.g., carry a radio or bear bell).
  • Continuously check weather and volcanic information during your climb.
  • Turn on your phone’s GPS before starting your climb.
  • If you get lost, retrace your steps. Seek help in areas with signal reception and good visibility.
